In our second of a three part series on mobile security, Kevin, Chris and Tony, Senior Security Consultants at Secure Ideas, will talk about how mobile devices leak data through applications, from poor security settings, and through the features available on these devices. This talk will focus on where data is stored, how to find data on a device, and how to protect it. The talk will include some best practices and recommendations for organizations attempting to develop, implement, and enforce mobile security policies.

Kevin Johnson will be teaching Sec571:Mobile Device Security at SANS Security East. This course is designed to teach students about the threats organizations are exposed to via the mobile devices on which they depend. This two-day hands-on class uses lecture, labs and real world experiences to educate the students about mobile security within the enterprise. The class will explore how the devices work, what implementation options are available, and how attackers are abusing the organization. The students will also examine various remediation strategies, policies, and solutions to these concerns.
